How one family found their dream home in a townhouse rich
with Dunfermline’s weaving past.

countryside, but as their two children, Jonathan
and Hannah, grew older, they knew they
wanted to find a property somewhere more
central. The family found their dream home,
a Georgian townhouse in Dunfermline, on
espc.com in early 2017, and Neneh documents
the renovation of the property on Instagram as

“We used to live in the countryside outside
Dunfermline, but as the children grew older,
we wanted to be somewhere more central
– close to cafes, the train station and other
people,” explains Neneh. “We also needed
more space for our children, especially more
bathrooms, and a good-sized garden for our
two dogs, Otto and Angus. I also wanted
space for guests to stay; I’m from Sweden and
it was always a squeeze when my family came
to stay at our last property. We considered
moving to Edinburgh, where we bought our
